STAGE 1 · INQUIRY

Question – The First Step

Everything begins with a question. A child looks at the world and asks, “Why?” Why does the sun rise? Where does the rain come from? How do birds fly? What begins as curiosity gradually becomes the pursuit of knowledge.

Throughout history, questions have led human beings to explore the unknown. Scientific discoveries have begun with observations that demanded an explanation. The desire to understand matter has taken us into the smallest particles of existence and the farthest reaches of the universe. Each answer has revealed something new, often giving rise to questions we had never thought to ask.

Yet, while we have learned to investigate the world around us, how often do we turn the same curiosity towards ourselves?

Why do we think the way we do? Why do we react differently to the same situation? Why do certain experiences bring us joy while others cause suffering? Why do our desires keep changing and what shapes the choices we make?

We live with these experiences every day, yet rarely pause to investigate them. We often accept our thoughts, emotions, and reactions as simply who we are, without examining how they arise or what influences them.

Perhaps the next field of exploration lies closer than we imagine.

Spiritual inquiry begins when our questions turn towards the nature of our own experience. Who am I, beyond the roles I perform, the thoughts I think and the identities I carry? What is the mind? What does it mean to understand oneself?

These are not questions to be answered merely by borrowing someone else's conclusions. They invite us to observe, investigate and examine our own experience.

This is where Yoga offers a different way of looking at life. It encourages us to turn our attention towards the very process through which we experience the world, the body, the senses, the mind and the movements of thought.

The purpose is not to collect more answers, but to develop the clarity to see for ourselves.

Every question opens a possibility. Every sincere inquiry begins an exploration.
